Founded in 1642, Montreal is known around the world by the mountain in the very heart of the city: Mount Royal. In 2017 we celebrate the history and the future of the city that surrounds that landmark heritage site. Fittingly, to kick off Montreal’s 375th year long birthday party, the St. Patrick’s Society is getting ready to host the party of the year on Montreal’s summit this coming March the 3rd.
The Annual St. Patrick’s Society Charity Ball, Canada’s oldest event of its kind, will be held this coming year at the elegant and beautifully redecorated Chalet at the Lookout of our beloved Mount Royal.
Our special guests for this special edition Ball include Ireland’s newest Ambassador to Canada His Excellency Jim Kelly as well as his wife Anne Martin. As is fitting for such a historical celebration Mayor Denis Coderre, who remains a true friend of Montreal’s Irish community and whose own roots extent back to the Emerald Isle, will also be in attendance with his wife Chantale Renaud.
This year we will be raising monies not only for the St. Patrick’s Society’s own charitable, educational and cultural endeavors but also for one of Montreal’s worthy and iconic non-profit institutions, The West Island Palliative Care Residence. Fittingly, our Honourary Co-Chair for this year’s Ball will be Teresa Dellar, its Co-Founder and Executive Director. Along with her fellow Honorary Co-Chairs Her Honour Pierrette Sevigny and Maitre Richard McConomy, you are cordially invited to join us on Friday March 3rd 2017 at the summit of our great city.
The evening starts at 6:30 PM with complimentary parking and shuttle service, a special surprise welcome, free coat check and a cocktail party with complimentary wine and spirits and Irish themed hors d’oeuvres. Mix and mingle to the sounds of a string quartet while taking in the amazing views of Montreal offered from every window. The sumptuous 5 course dinner service starts at 8 PM and also includes unique and expanded entertainment between courses featuring the four founding cultures. The specially decorated Chalet then rocks to the music of Montreal’s own Directors Showband and we cap off the evening with an Irish pub, late night Irish snacks and dancing till the wee hours with all beverages included throughout. There’s even an afterhours only ticket option available! Dress is black tie and ball gown of course!
