Princess Lianne Short

Lianne is 21 years of age.  Her Irish heritage connects to 19thcentury Ireland. On her mother’s side her ancestors grew up in Limerick County Clare.  Her father’s past is deeply rooted in Newfoundland.  William Short arrived in St. John’s harbour, Newfoundland in 1703 from Belfast, Ireland.

She is currently in her second year of a double major in Art History and Anthropology at McGill University.   She hopes to continue to follow her academic pursuits through to grad school once finishing her Bachelor’s degree.

Lianne’s passion is figure skating.  She has been skating for over 15 years.  She shares her love of the sport as both a coach and a skater.  She has won 9 gold medals across both Skate Canada and US Figure Skating testing streams.  She is a certified regional coach which allows her the opportunity to coach skating to children and to volunteer at various skating events.  She currently continues to compete as a competitive skater with the McGill Figure Skating Team
